PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carpet cleaning method capable of certainly removing stains, preventing the re-adhesion of stains and excellent in safety, economical efficiency and environmental properties. SOLUTION: After earth and sand of a carpet is removed, electrolytic alkaline water is sprayed on the surface of the carpet and, thereafter, the carpet is washed and the surface of the washed carpet is further rinsed to recover dirty water.
