PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purifying filter which can enlarge the contact area between a catalyst carried by barrier walls of a honeycomb struc tural body and deposited particulates and can enhance the ability of oxidation reaction of the particulates by virtue of the catalyst, and a producing method thereof. SOLUTION: In this exhaust gas purifying filter 1 which has the honeycomb structural body 10 made of ceramic and the catalyst 2 carried by the surface of the barrier walls 11 of the honeycomb structural body 10, the porosity of the barrier wall 11 in the honeycomb structural body 10 is 55-80% and the rate of surface fine pores is 20% or more.
