PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator apparatus having an air regulating cover at the lower part of a car, capable of dispensing with a profundal pit, and enough exhibiting an air regulating effect by the air regulating cover while effectively using a building space and simplifying the adjustment work in the pit to secure quietness in the car. SOLUTION: A lower air regulating cover 10 is provided with an opening part 13 for allowing the advance of the tip of a buffer 12. The opening part 13 is blocked up by a lid 15 energized by coil springs 16a, 16b. When the tip of the buffer 12 presses the lid 15, the lid 15 is moved against the energizing force of the coil springs 16a, 16b, thereby opening the opening part 13. Thus, the tip of the buffer 12 advances into the interior of the lower regulating cover 10 through the opening part 13.
