PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a removing apparatus for removing and recovering an excess coating material continuously without generating a defect in the formation of the coating film caused by the coating material powdered from a coating liquid stuck to the inside surface of a recovering cover and without lowering the operation rate in the excess coating liquid removing apparatus on a video tube panel. SOLUTION: The excess coating liquid removing apparatus has the recovering cover composed of recovering covers 6a and 6b which are joined back to back with each other having a vertical axis (x) at the center on a rotary table 9 capable of indexing rotation and have the same shape, and the apparatus is constituted so as to enable the retracting action by a slide rail 7 and an air cylinder 8, receives the excess coating material scattered by the high speed rotation of the video tube panel 1 on the inside surface of the recovering cover and to clean the recovering covers 6a and 6b by switching them at a fixed period. As the result, the generation of the defect due to the sticking of the foreign substance of powder, generated by sticking and drying the excess coating material on the inside surface of the recovering cover, again on the inside surface of the video tube panel is prevented and the continuous manufacturing is realized.
