PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain coating apparatus in which an high quality coated product can be manufactured by removing air accompanying a web in a high speed coating thereby stabilizing a curtain film. SOLUTION: In the curtain coating apparatus for applying a coating liquid to a continuously traveling web, an air jetting apparatus positioned on the upstream side from a collision point of the curtain film with the web and jetting air in the upstream side direction is provided and a shielding member for blocking the entrained air generated by the movement of the web from the curtain film is provided between the collision point and the air jetting apparatus to remove the effect of the turbulence of air and to prevent the curtain film from being withdrawn to the jetting apparatus side. The curtain coating apparatus is provided with a suppression member adjacent and parallel to the web joined to the shielding member. The curtain coating apparatus is further provided with an air suction apparatus in addition to the air jetting apparatus in a closed space integrated with the shielding member, the suppression member and a partition member to form a negative pressure region.
