A bearing for insertion into gaps between associated constructional elements comprises a movable member 2, Fig. 2, and a fixed member 1, both of which are made of plastics material and have their bearing surfaces coated with finely-divided plastics particles. The members 2, 1 are enveloped by means of a resilient member 3, the latter being secured to the fixed member 1 thus allowing the member 2 freedom of movement. The fixed member 1 has a greater surface area than that of the member 2 so as to allow for the possible movements of the latter. In another embodiment, building parts 11, 12, Fig. 3, have resilient bearing members 13, 14, each of which is provided with a hard lining 15 coated with plastics particles. The insert can also be used as a sealing element, for instance, as a flange gasket in piping. |
