FIELD: electrochemistry; nickel hydroxide base active material for chemical power supplies. SUBSTANCE: positive plate active material is composed of nickel hydroxide base powder, additives, and water; used as additives are cobalt, cobalt oxide, cobalt sulfate, polyvinyl and ethyl alcohols, proportion of ingredients being as follows, mass percent: nickel hydroxide, 57-70; cobalt, 1-6; cobalt oxide, 1-6; cobalt sulfate, 0.5-2; polyvinyl alcohol, 0.1-0.5; ethyl alcohol, 5-10; deionized water, the rest; active material structure incorporates spherical particles of nickel hydroxide covered with thin layer of cobalt sulfate and surrounded by smaller spherical particles of cobalt and cobalt oxide.
