SUBSTANCE: oligomerization of isobutylene is carried out in presence of catalyst, tert-butanol as selectivity-increasing modifier, and isoalkane diluter containing largely isooctane in amount sufficient to increase selectivity with regard to dimer and exothermic reaction heat absorption.
