PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording head which operates stably over a long term with low power consumption in which variation in the wiring resistance of heating resistors is suppressed. SOLUTION: A plurality of first lines 13 are connected with a common first electrode pad 12. The first line 13 is also connected with the other terminal of at least one heating resistor 11a such that the other terminal of each heating resistor 11a is connected with any one first line. A plurality of second lines 16 are connected with a common second electrode pad 15. Furthermore, the second line 16 is connected with the other terminal of at least one switching element 19a such that the other terminal of each switching element 19a is connected with any one second line. When any one switching element 19a is turned on, resistance from the first electrode pad 12 to the second electrode pad 15 is constant.
