PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome a problem such that it is hard to secure the compatibility of the rotor strength and the motor characteristics in the use of a conventional synchronous reluctance motor at high-speed revolutions, because the synchronous reluctance motor structurally has low rotor strength and sometimes requires a large through-hole in the center of a rotor particularly when used as a built-in motor. SOLUTION: A magnetic path in the central part of a magnetic pole of the rotor is made wide; a permanent magnet 4 is arranged in the magnetic path in the central part; a magnetic flux of the permanent magnet 4 is arranged constitutionally in such a manner as to make a magnetic path 53 on the side of an inside diameter of the rotor magnetically saturated; the magnetic path 53 has a required minimum width in terms of strength so as to bring about magnetic saturation; and a member having great reluctance, for example, a non-magnetic material such as stainless steel is used as a member 1 which is arranged inside the rotor, in order to realize magnetic saturation.
