摘要 PURPOSE: A method of coating an emissive element is provided to give bonds that add strength and life span to the electrode while using conventional manufacturing equipment and techniques. CONSTITUTION: The method of coating an emissive element includes a plasma arc torch(10) which comprises a nozzle assembly(12) and a tubular electrode(14). The electrode(14) includes an upper tubular member(15) and a lower cup-shaped member or holder(16). The upper tubular member(15) includes an internally threaded lower end portion(17). A holder(16) includes a lower front end and an upper rear end. A transverse end wall(18) closes the front end of the holder(16), and the transverse end wall(18) defines an outer front face. The rear end of the holder(16) is externally threaded and is threadedly joined to the lower end portion(17) of the upper tubular member(15).
