The invention concerns a tyre comprising at least a carcass reinforcement of at least one ply (1) anchored in each bead (B) to at least a bead core (2), each bead (B) being reinforced by at least two reinforcement plies (61, 62) consisting of reinforcing elements inclined relative to the circumferential direction at an angle ranging between 10 DEG and 30 DEG , said reinforcement plies (61, 62) being axially adjacent to the carcass reinforcement. The invention is characterised in that the reinforcing elements of at least one ply (1) of carcass reinforcement, in each portion adjacent to the two bead reinforcing plies (61, 62), are inclined relative to the circumferential direction at an angle ranging between 50 DEG and 80 DEG and are radial in the portion included between the radially upper ends of said two reinforcing plies (61, 62), ends located radially external of the points of the sidewalls defining the maximum axial width of the tyre when mounted inflated on its nominal rim. |
