PURPOSE: A cast alloy steel for press mould with excellent machinability and thermal treatability is provided, which is suitable to the manufacture of tool steels for metal cutting. CONSTITUTION: The cast alloy steel for press mould comprises C 1.40 to 1.50 wt.%, Si 0.4 to 0.6 wt.%, Mn less than 0.6 wt.%, P less than 0.03 wt.%, S less than 0.03 wt.%, Cr 11.0 to 12.0 wt.%, Mo 0.8 to 1.2 wt.%, W 0.4 to 0.6 wt.%, V 0.07 to 0.15 wt.%, a balance of Fe and other unavoidable impurities.
