PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable modem device including a small-sized low-power consumption development system enabling to restart data communications more quickly. SOLUTION: A micro processor 90 indicates a MAC(Media Access Control) processing part 87 to stop transmission when no transfer data is detected from a PC(Personal Computer) 30 during the time set by a timer device 92. Moreover, the micro processor 90 indicates the MAC processing part 87 to restart transmission when transfer data is detected from the PC 30. Power consumption is controlled by reducing the operation rate of the bus 88 or the RAM(Random Access Memory) 86 of a cable modem device 80, and the micro processor 90.
