<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bridge device which needs no server on the ATM side in registering ARPs and sending/receiving multicast packets. SOLUTION: The MAC 11 terminates and generates IP frames. The SAR 13 terminates and generates ATM cells. The switching address solution part 12 is comprised of input/output logical ports corresponding to MC 11 and SAR 13, and an address table indicating relationships between the input/output logical ports, connection numbers and addresses of each terminal 1-6. The switching address solution part 12 asks for input/output logical ports corresponding to sending addresses from each terminals 1-6 referring to the address table, and switches packets between terminals by sending packets to the input/output logical ports.</p> |
