<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for transferring variable length packet with fixed length cell, which suppress burst property of packets read out from a packet queue and shorten a scheduling processing delay. SOLUTION: A packet, which is discriminated by quality class discrimination section 11-1, is accumulated into packet queues #0 to #3 which are corresponding to quality classes respectively, read out from packet reading-out section 11-3, and transmitted. A packet queue control section comprises a packet queue counter, a transmission cell number counter, a reading omission counter, and a weight setting part. When a front cell is accumulated into each packet queue, the packet queue control section performs scheduling immediately, and starts reading out of the packet up to the last cell from each packet queue, without waiting accumulation of all cell of the packet into each packet queue. The number of counts that the reading-out cell number exceeds a weight value and the broken number are countered by the reading omission counter and the transmission cell number counter, and the next round scheduling is performed on the basis of the number of the counts.</p> |
