<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image signal conversion apparatus having an overlapping field detection circuit for detecting an overlapping field accurately without detecting as an overlapping field by mistake even in the case of partial change in the field. SOLUTION: An overlapping field detection circuit 1 obtains the difference value for each pixel of a position corresponding to the previous and succeeding fields at a field where an inputted telecine signal Vin is inputted in time series, compares the difference value with each overlapping threshold and non- overlapping threshold, counts the number of pixels having a difference value being less than the overlapping threshold and the number of pixels having a difference value exceeding the non-overlapping threshold, and performs detection processing with the overlapping field based on the obtained number of overlapping pixels and non-overlapping pixels.</p> |
