PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression circuit control system which is suitable for effectively using talking channels in PBX where an ISDN circuit compression service is available. SOLUTION: In a toll network composed of PBXs connected together through an ISDN interface, an ISDN circuit compression service in which the talking channels of dedicated lines are divided to be available for a plurality of calls is provided in a PBX, and a means of effectively using talking channels in the above PBX is as follows. As an example, if a channel is not accessible when non-compression transmission is made, condensation is carried out for an operating speech channel through a compressed call to ensure an idle speech channel, by which non-compression transmission becomes possible.
