PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image data read out by the other reading part from being changed from a boundary, i.e., a position on which the quantity of light is displaced, due to a change in the light quantity of a light source for one reading part while preventing the printing of an image on the rear surface of an original by displacing the positions of the reading parts arranged on both the sides of an original carrier to an original carrying direction. SOLUTION: Two reading parts (e.g. 1st and 2nd reading scanning systems 10, 20 on the position of Pos3) are arranged on both the sides of the original carrier, and when the light source of the other reading part is turned off during the original reading of one reading part, correcting processing is performed so that reading density obtained after turning off the light source is made brighter than that obtained before turning off the light source.
