摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a display device, which is equipped with an organic EL light-emitting element which, while reducing the manufacture cost, has a high rate of opening in each pixel, and reduced variation of the rate of the opening. SOLUTION: It is the manufacturing method of the display device for manufacturing the display device, which is constituted with two or more light-emitting- element layers arranged in planar fashion, drive elements connected to this light-emitting-element layers, bank layers arranged in two or more boundary regions between mutual the light-emitting-element layers, and wiring connected to the drive elements, on a substrate of light transmitting nature. The bank layers are formed in self-aligned manner at the upper part of the wiring, by forming the wiring to carry out patterning of an electrical conduction film of light shielding property to a planner form corresponding to the planner form of the bank layers, and by exposing using this wiring as a mask from the backside of the substrate, the light-emitting-element layers are formed in the regions surrounded by the bank layers.
