PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit and receive video messages via a communication circuit. SOLUTION: In the video messaging method, a transmission station (110) records video messages digitally for transmitting to a specific reception station (130). The reception station (130) accommodates the received video messaged in a nonvolatile memory (134). Except the time during which video messages are being received, the reception station (130) displays the video messages that have been accommodated in the reception station (130). The video messages can be coded by the transmission station (110) and can be decoded by the reception station (130). Digital attachment files such as word processor documents, spreadsheet documents, digital still images, audio files, and video clips can be transmitted from the transmission station (110) along with the video messages. A receiver (141) is desirably used at the reception station (130) to display the video messages. In the reception station (130), the video messages can be archived by using a video cassette recorder (143).
