PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic sound volume controller that properly controls a sound volume outputted from a loudspeaker even in the case of continuous broadcast such as background music BGM and suppresses a rapid fluctuation of the sound volume so that the fluctuation of the sound volume gives no sense of incongruity to a listener. SOLUTION: A processing means (comparison means) 107 compares a sound volume of an output signal C outputted from a loudspeaker 111 externally with a measurement reference level being a sound volume reference, varies both the measurement reference level of the output signal C and a measurement reference level of a sound (external acoustic signal A) comprising sound and noise acquired by a microphone 101 and outputted externally and stores the result into a storage means 108. Further, the sound volume of the external acoustic signal A is stored by the prescribed number of times, a processing means (average calculation means) averages the sound volume of the stored external acoustic signals A, the averaged result and the measurement reference level of the external acoustic signal A are compared, and the mode of signal amplification in a broadcast acoustic signal amplifier means 110 is determined according to the result of comparison.
