PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent illegal use due to an illegal copy of a program recording medium and illegal use due to alteration of data. SOLUTION: A client computer inputs user inherent data S202 and S203, acquires a serial number inherent to a program recording medium and device identification data inherent to the client computer S201 and S204, generates a registration key on the basis of the serial number and the device identification data S205 and transmits the registration key and the user inherent data to a server computer S206. The server computer receives the registration key and the user inherent data S210, generates authentication data on the basis of the registration key S211 and transmits the authentication data to the client computer S212. The client computer receives the authentication data S207 and generates save data S208. In performing a program, whether or not to start the program is decided on the basis of the save data and the identification data. |
