PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize more number of oscillation wavelengths in a fiber-optic laser which generates a laser beam, in such a way that a fiber comprising a core doped with rare-earth element ions is pumped by a laser diode. SOLUTION: The fiber 13, comprising the core doped with Ho<3+> , is pumped by a GaN-based laser diode 11, and the laser beam 15 is generated by the transitions:<5> S2 to<5> I7 or<5> S2 to<5> I8 in the fiber 13. |
