PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery electrolyte consisting of a polymer electrolyte that is useful as a material for an electro-chemical device such as secondary battery that does not catch fire or not continually burn, and the safety property of the battery is excellent. SOLUTION: The compound of boric acid ester for the secondary battery electrolyte consists of a compound of boric acid obtained by esterifying a oxyalkylene derivative containing polymeric functional group shown by equation (1).
