PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device that can pick up an image with excellent quality at a high-speed. SOLUTION: A VI conversion circuit 40n receives a voltage signal outputted from a hold circuit 30n, converts the received voltage signal into a current signal on the basis of the resistance of a resistor element R40 and provides the output of the current signal from a source terminal of a MOS transistor(TR) T40 . An amplifier A40 has a sufficient open loop gain and the MOS TR T40 is in operation in a saturated region. If the resistance of the resistor element R40 is R, the current I outputted from the VI conversion circuit 40n has a proportional relation expressed in Expression 'I=V/R', where V is the voltage given to the VI conversion circuit 40n.
