PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method and equipment which is capable of making the variations of shapes and dimensional accuracies of a flare opening portion or a tapered portion to be small in the manufacturing of a flare, and of preventing the occurrence of the offsets and collects of thickness, and distortions. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method and equipment, a flare glass is disposed on a glass tube support pin of a rotatable flare molding die, in which the glass tube support pin is incorporated into a cylinder having an axial passage therethrough slidably in the vertical directions, and the flare glass for a glass bulb is manufactured by pressing a glass tube with a press die, having a convex portion for making a flare-opening edge in engaging with the rotatable flare molding die, after heating around the top end of the glass tube with a plurality of burners, and the flare for the glass bulb is manufactured, by stepping down the glass support pin in plural number of times between the time the heating with the burners is started and until completion flare forming by pressing a flare opening edge.
