PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording system, a recording method and a recording medium which are reused in a file system having no defect control functions, by physically avoiding a defective part even when the defect is present in an optical disk used in a file system having a defect control function. SOLUTION: Software for overall control of data writing in an ISO 9660 file system is stored in a program storage part 5. In the step of data writing normally carried out by this mastering software, first, a user selects data to be written in a CD-RW from data stored in a writing data storage device 4, the selected data are formatted in the ISO 9660 file system to be stored as a CD image in a CD image storage device 3, the CD image is transmitted to a CD-RW drive device 2, and the data transmitted to the CD-RW drive device 2 are written in the CD-RW disk.
