PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for an electric double-layer capacitor which is superior in oxidation and reduction resistance, solvent resistance, and heat resistance, and a nonaqueous or aqueous electric double-layer capacitor by solving the problems of moldability, bindability, electrical characteristics, and chemical stability of electrode paste for the electric double-layer capacitor. SOLUTION: The stability as paste is improved by using a polymer, including a repeat structure unit having amide structure, for example, a polymer of N- vinyl acetamide as a binding agent for polarizing electrode paste, and it is superior in the adhesive property with collecting material in an obtained electrode, the bindability of polarizable electrode material, the electrochemical stability, and affinity with an electrolyte, and further by using that electrode, the nonaqueous or aqueous electric double-layer capacitor, which has high capacity and can operate with a high current and is of long life time and is superior in reliability, can be completed. |
