NATURAL-LANGUAGE TRANSLATION CANDIDATE SELECTION METHOD, DEVICE, PROGRAM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM STORING THEREIN THE PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a suitable second natural-language expression to be selected as a translation of a received first natural-language expression. SOLUTION: First and second natural-language collocation word collecting parts 20 and 30 each search first and second natural-language corpuses 100 and 110 for words collocating with the first and second natural-language expressions and on statistical information on each collocation word. First and second natural-language collocation information analyzing parts 40 and 50 each use received collocation words and the statistical information to calculate the characteristic amounts of the collocation words and to output them as first and second natural-language collocation information. A collocation information comparison part 60 uses the first natural-language collocation information, the second natural-language collocation information, and a parallel translation dictionary 120 to calculate the semantic similarities of all combinations of the first natural-language expression and the second natural-language expression and sends the result to a translation candidate selection part 70. The translation candidate selection part 70 selects and outputs the second natural-language expression semantically most similar to the received first natural-language expression.
