PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an updating system of the firmware of a printer updating the firmware safely in a short time. SOLUTION: In the updating system of the firmware (F) in charge of the control of the printer, the firmware is divided into a plurality of modules (M1 and M2) and the respective modules are stored respectively in the respective storage areas of a nonvolatile storage means partitioned by a plurality of partitions (partitions 1 to X). At the time of updating the firmware, the respective modules of an updating origin and an updating destination are compared with each other and only the module judged as being changed or corrected is downloaded from the program file of the updating origin and rewritten. |
