PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paint composition retrieval system which can make extremely precise color matching even for brilliant paint and solve a problem of a color atlas bundling of color cards describing conventional color composition. SOLUTION: (A) A color card sheet group is an aggregation of a plurality of color cards independent for each paint code number which corresponds to each paint of maker designated color number, and each color card sheet is mounted with one or more working color card corresponding to one and more actual color composition of same paint code number. (B) The paint composition retrieval system is provided with a computer on which paint composition data corresponding to each working color card number for each paint code number are registered. The system selects working color cards to be toning reference from the color card sheet groups (A), and retrieves the paint composition data based on the paint code numbers and the working color card number using the computer (B).
