PURPOSE: A cast alloy steel for press mould with excellent machinability while no Cr precipitation is provided, which is suitable to the manufacture of tool steels for metal cutting. CONSTITUTION: The cast alloy steel for press mould comprises C 0.55 to 0.70 wt.%, Si 0.70 to 1.10 wt.%, Mn 0.70 to 1.00 wt.%, P less than 0.03 wt.%, S less than 0.03 wt.%, Cr 1.00 to 1.50 wt.%, Mo 0.20 to 0.50 wt.%, V 0.07 to 0.15 wt.%, a balance of Fe and other unavoidable impurities.
