PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead storage battery of high reliability during the period of use of the battery, by ensuring high reliability of a connecting portion among cells over long periods. SOLUTION: This lead storage battery, having connected structure among cells conducting resistance welding, is equipped with a through-hole 3 in a bulkhead 2 of a container made of synthetic resin, having a plurality of separated cells and arranges intermediate poles 4, 4' made of lead alloy connected with the groups of electrode plates 1, 1' on both sides of the bulkhead; and then projections 5 of a pair of welding electrodes 6 are pressed into the through hole, by pressing and deforming the both intermediate poles, where after connecting cells, a cover 7, 7' made of resin are applied on the intermediate pole portion, and the bulkhead and the cover are joined.
