PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage-controlled oscillator that increases an oscillating frequency range so as to realize high frequency oscillation and broadband adaptation and attains improvement of the C/N characteristic. SOLUTION: The voltage-controlled oscillator comprises a resonance section that controls an oscillated frequency in response to a control voltage Vc and an oscillation section that oscillates an oscillation signal with a resonance frequency of the resonance section. The resonance section comprises an LC resonance circuit comprising; a 1st varactor diode D1 that is connected in parallel with a path receiving the control voltage Vc and the resonance capacitance of which is controlled by the control voltage Vc; a 2nd varactor diode D2 that is connected in series with the path receiving the control voltage Vc and the resonance capacitance of which is controlled by the control voltage Vc; and a strip line SP1 (inductive element). Through the configuration above, a change in the combined static capacitance of the LC resonance circuit is remarkably increased to widen the oscillating frequency range. Thus, high frequency oscillation and broadband adaptation of the voltage-controlled oscillator can be attained.
