PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method capable of producing a colored light bulb, which is superior in heat resistance and UV-ray resistance and the like and has a colored layer on the bulb surface. SOLUTION: A colored coating material 4c in a state with a low-melting point glass powder is applied to the wall surface of a light bulb 13, located upright and sealed at either end by spouting of a nozzle 4b at a constant pressure, and drying processes 5, 6, 7 are examined by exposing the whole applying area to warm air, with this colored coating material 4c applied to. Then the opening side neck area of the bulb 13, with the colored coating film examining the drying processes 5, 6, 7, is cleaned for removal, an electrode mount with an exhaust pipe is inserted and located from the opening side of the bulb 13 examining the removal cleaning 8. Afterwards, a glass of the electrode mount inserted and located in the bulb and a cleaning part of th light bulb are fused to seal, and the exhaust pipe is sealed, after the inside of the light bulb is exhausted via the exhaust pipe of the electrode mount.
