PORTABLE ALARM GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A portable alarm Global Positioning System(GPS) is provided to recognize a kind of an approached area or traveling circumstances without seeing a display panel by generating separate alarms based on circumstances or settings. CONSTITUTION: The portable alarm global positioning system(GPS) comprises a GPS receiver(100) for receiving satellite signals; an input part(200) for inputting information to set values for controlling a built-in processor; a storage part(300) including a database for storing an application program including a real time kernel and the processor and data which the application program uses; a display panel(400) for outputting and displaying received coordinates data through a menu massage or the GPS receiver and coordinates data stored in the database; an alarm part(500) for generating separate alarms for a user to recognize approaching states to the stored coordinates depending on kinds of alarms; a microcomputer(600) for performing processors for operating signals which the GPS receives and storing the signals to the database, searching for coordinates data within a critical distance from the database, determining a critical speed, and outputting a display signal and an alarm signal to the display panel and the alarm part; an external communication device(700) for transmitting the coordinates data stored in the storage part(300) to an external device or receiving required coordinates data from the external device; and a power supply(800).
