PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for preparing data for production in an electronic component mounter by which nozzle arrangement data can efficiently be prepared. SOLUTION: For the preparation of data for production to prepare production data including nozzle arrangement data for picking up an electronic component from a component supply part and mounting it on a board by using a transfer head provided with a plurality of suction nozzles, the patterns of nozzle arrangement data are stored and, when conducting an optimization computation to optimize the mounting operation by the transfer head, the stored patterns are read out and they are diverted to a prerequisite condition of the optimization computation for preparing new production data. Thus, no data is unnecessary to be inputted each time, and the production data can be efficiently prepared and mounting operation be also optimized after changing work of arrangement is eliminated as much as possible. |
