PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bell striking device which can clearly present whether the sound volume of a sounding body is large or small. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an arm 121 which is partially pivoted to freely rotate, a hammer head 122 which is formed on one end side around the arm 121 and a fitting shaft, a solenoid 126 which rotates the arm 121 around the rotary shaft 125 according to a driving signal, a flat bell 11 which is arranged within the movement range of the hammer head 122 and sounds with sound volume corresponding to the movement distance, a music data storage part which stores a musical sound, a forward/backward bell striking driving circuit part 24 which outputs the driving signal to a solenoid 126 and making the hammer head 122 strike the flat bell 11 from a reference position (A) as a movement start position when the strength of the musical sound is small and a driving signal making the hammer head 122 strike the flat bell 11 from a position (B) a desired time earlier than the sounding time of the musical sound when the strength of the musical sound is large, and a coil spring 123 which energizes the arm 121 in such a direction that its other end side is at the reference position (A) when the device is not in operation.
