PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that there is the case where a wall electrical potential difference stored on second row electrode and column electrode are not adjusted sufficiently in an erasure initialization operation in the conventional driving method and it becomes a cause and erroneous discharge is generated in a succeeding initialization period and luminescent points are generated due to the erroneous discharge and picture quality is degraded. SOLUTION: A voltage pulse having a voltage Vr (V) which exceeds a discharge starting voltage with respect to the second row electrode and column electrode and is equal to or lower than a discharge starting voltage with respect to first electrodes is applied to→second row electrodes and column electrodes prior to an initialization period in the driving of a plasma display.
