PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption in accordance with the surrounding temperature of a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: A gate driver 102 and a source driver 103 are provided on a liquid crystal panel 101 which has a plurality of pixel electrodes 110 arranged in row and column directions. A video signal processing circuit 104 outputs video signals to the source driver. A control signal generating circuit 105 generates driving control signals 120 and 121 of the drivers 102 and 103 and outputs output stopping signals 122 to the driver 103 based on temperature information 125 of the panel 101 detected by a surrounding temperature detecting circuit 106.
