PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide camera built-in recording and reproducing equipment wherein magnification and reduction of an image which are required by a user are performed to equipment body, by using one button or by at least one operation, and image display which is easy to be seen by the user can be provided, and to provide a reproducing method. SOLUTION: A reproducing device 1 is provided with a CPU 4 and a RAM 5 which read data of a recorded dynamic picture image or a still picture image, when the data of the dynamic picture image or the still picture image which have been imaged by an image pickup means and stored in an external storage device 2 are regenerated, a dynamic picture image decoder 6 and a still picture image decoder 7 which convert the read data of the dynamic picture image or the still picture image to display image signals, an image magnifying IC 9 which magnifies or reduces the converted display image signals and converts a display position, and a display device 10 for displaying the converted image. As a result, magnification and reduction of the image which are required by a user are enabled by a simple constitution, and operating performance can be improved.
