PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling the screen of an image display device are provided to produce a screen with high picture quality and to easily adjust the picture quality of the screen. CONSTITUTION: A system for controlling the screen of an image display device includes an OSD control circuit(200), a video processor(100), a blanking signal blocking unit(400), and a microcomputer(300). The OSD control circuit generates an OSD RGB signals for generating OSD on a predetermined portion of the screen and outputs a blanking signal for blocking video signals during horizontal and vertical sections for which the OSD RGB signals are displayed. The video processor processes the OSD RGB signals and the video signals. The blacking signal blocking unit blocks the blanking signal output from the OSD control circuit according to a blanking control signal. The microcomputer generates the blanking control signal and controls a bright window region to have luminance increased compared with the other region. |
