PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve portability to facilitate use in a place difficult to pass through by a vehicle by omitting a self-advancing function to form small and lightweight constitution without impeding safe and positive guide assistance. SOLUTION: An external sensor 13 detects the surrounding situation. A system control part 14 performs automatic steering and braking control of the pedestrian guide device 1 on the basis of the output of the external sensor 13. Safe and positive guide assistance can thereby be attained. The pedestrian guide device 1 has an automatic steering and braking function but does not require the self-advancing function. The pedestrian guide device 1 can thereby be constituted to be small and lightweight to improve portability. |
