PURPOSE: A composition, a seal for a fuel cell or a fuel cell stack and a method for using the composition a sealing composition in a fuel cell or a fuel cell stack are provided, wherein the composition is used as a sealing composition in a fuel cell, can be crosslinked to give a degradation-stable silicone rubber and is prepared at low cost. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises a component (A) comprising a polyorganosiloxane having at least two alkenyl groups per molecule and a catalyst; and a component (B) comprising a polyorganosiloxane having at least two Si-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule and an additive selected from the group consisting of an organic sulfur or an organosilicon sulfur compound. The composition can be crosslinked to give an elastomer. Preferably the organosilicon sulfur compound is 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane, 3-mercaptopropyltriethoxysilane or dimethylsiloxane unit, methyl-3-mercaptopropylsiloxane unit and copolymers of trimethylsiloxane. |
