PURPOSE: A color cathode ray tube is provided to prevent condensation of barium and disperse uniformly the barium by controlling width of a getter guide installed on an inner side surface of a funnel of the color cathode ray tube. CONSTITUTION: A gettering(11) is installed at a getter guide(14). A distance difference(A) between a center(D) of getter guide width(B) and a center(C') of gettering width(C) has a range of 0<A<3mm. A mathematical expression such as A=(B-C)/2 is obtained by considering the getter guide width(B) and the gettering width(C). The gettering(11) can be moved within the getter guide width and L has the range of 0<L <6mm since L=B-C and L=2A if the movable width of the gettering(11) is L. The getter guide width(B) is less than the sum of the gettering width(C) and 6 mm in order the distance difference(A) between the center(D) of the getter guide width(B) and the center(C') of the gettering width(C) may be 3mm.
