PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for recording to constantly select an optimal recorder regarding residual ink among a plurality of recorders existing on a network. SOLUTION: The residual ink of the respective printers are measured. Ink consumption required in recording of recording data prepared by a document preparing device is calculated (209). And the residual ink of the respective printers are compared with the ink consumption and printers with the residual ink larger than the ink consumption are calculated (211) and a list of the printers is displayed to a user (212). When the user selects a printer suitable for a recording purpose among the displayed printers (213), the recording data is transmitted to the selected printer (214) and the printer records it. |
