PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of signals of a driving circuit driving bi- directionally. SOLUTION: A data line driving circuit 130 is provided with a shift direction selecting section 131, a bi-direction shift register section 132, and a logical operation section 133. The shift direction selecting section 131 discriminates polarity of a X starter pulse SPX, and generates first and second shift direction selecting signals DIR1, DIR2 based on the discriminated result. The bi-direction shift register section 132 transfers the X starter pulse SPX, but the transfer direction is controlled by the first and the second shift direction selecting signals DIR1, DIR2. The logical operation section 133 generates sampling signals S1-Sm based on each output signal P1-Pm+1 of the bi-direction shift register section 132.
