PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of driving sound generated from a mechanism diaphragm, in a shooting mode with audio recording is recorded and that a suitable adjustment of light intensity is prevented by instable operations, due to the temperature of a physical diaphragm in a time-critical shooting mode. SOLUTION: The imaging device has an imaging element 105 for shooting a subject image and a light intensity adjusting means which is driven according to the photometric information of the subject and can be set in several shooting modes. The light intensity adjusting means is composed of a first light intensity adjusting means (a mechanical diaphragm) 103 for mechanically changing the area of a light passing hole and a second light intensity adjusting means (a physical diaphragm) 104 for changing the optical transmittance by a physical change with the application of electrical signals. A control means 113 is provided for inhibiting driving of one of the first light intensity adjusting means 103 and the second light intensity adjusting means 104, according to the set shooting mode. |
