PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable display system which enables the dubbing or recording of the speech in a moving picture without looking at a scenario and a screen alternately, and contributes to the training or fatigue alleviation of a voice actor. SOLUTION: The portable display system is provided with a head-mounted type display device 2 to be mounted on a user's 1 head, and a control device 3 to be mounted on a user's 1 body. Character data corresponding to the speech in the moving picture is read into the control device 3. Image signals corresponding to the character data are outputted to the head-mounted type display device 2 from the control device 3. The speech corresponding to the character data is visibly displayed at the same time with the moving picture on the head- mounted type display device 2.
